South Africa truly has it all. This year-round safari destination boasts dramatically diverse landscapes, breathtaking coastlines, and tremendous biodiversity – including the Big 5.

There are so many things to do in South Africa. However, a safari here is unlike anything else and the country is home to a variety of unbeatable game parks and private reserves. Kruger National Park is one of the most famous national parks and is home to the Big 5; the surrounding private reserves that make up the Greater Kruger – such as Timbavati and Sabi Sands – perfectly pair exclusive luxury with exceptional game viewing.

A journey to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, features access to fine dining, luxurious stays, brilliant beaches and stunning winelands. It is also a gateway to the picturesque Whale Coast, the Garden Route and beyond that, the safari adventures of the malaria-free Eastern Cape and Karoo.

South Africa has 11 official languages, an indicator of just how diverse and vibrant her people are. From the mighty Zulu nation to the old Cape Dutch houses of Stellenbosch, to the bright Cape Malay houses of Bo Kaap and Durban’s Indian flair — South Africa’s many cultures come alive in the colourful designs, architecture, arts and very importantly, its food. From famous braais (barbeques) to bunny chow curries, delectable seafood and world-class wine with exquisite cheese pairings — South Africa is a truly exceptional culinary experience.

The Dry Season

May to October
South Africa is a large country with a range of varied climates. You really can visit at any time of year! The dry winter months offer a great time to spot wildlife on safari, particularly in the northern reserves; vegetation is low and wildlife congregate around limited water sources, the perfect conditions for game viewing. Whale watching on the southern coast is at its very best between July and October.

The Green Season

November to April
These summer months mark the best time to enjoy the Cape with beautiful warm weather in Cape Town, the Winelands, and across the Garden Route with regular sunny days at their peak between November and February. This is also a great time to safari in the Eastern Cape reserves and a time for exceptional birding in the lush greenery of the northern reserves.
