Nestled in southern Africa, Zambia looks like a world untouched, with vast parks and wilderness areas left largely undisturbed by man’s meanderings. Zambia is a country that offers a wealth of captivating safari adventures including its famous walking safaris and iconic game drives.

A Zambian safari offers fantastic wildlife encounters and the chance to stay in a range of intimate and luxurious lodges in a truly pristine setting. Destinations like the Lower Zambezi, Kafue National Park and the enchanting Luangwa Valley beckon – teeming with big game, wild dogs, antelope and colourful birdlife.

A lush and biodiverse landlocked country, Zambia protects large swathes of its land with numerous national parks. Various rivers feed pristine landscapes, one of the most famous being the mighty Zambezi that weaves its way to the world’s largest curtain of falling water, Victoria Falls – known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya or ‘the smoke that thunders’.

The Dry Season

May to November
The dry season months offer a great time to spot wildlife on safari; vegetation is low and wildlife congregate around limited water sources, the perfect conditions for game viewing. This is also an excellent time to visit Victoria Falls; the waters are at their highest in April and May with the best months being between June and August after the spray has reduced. The rains tend to break in the latter half of November.

The Green Season

December to April
With the rains falling regularly by December the Green Season well and truly begins, with beautiful thick bush, a plethora of migratory bird species, and a highly private safari. The rains continue through January until April, with many of the camps closing during this time.
