Nyerere National Park – formerly Selous – is a vast reserve with an impressive ecology and showcase of game, including the Big 5 and other rare species.

In addition to its big game and plains game, Nyerere stands as a vital safe haven for endangered African wild dogs and the park houses nearly a third of the global population.

The park is notably undisturbed, with a variety of landscapes such as the Rufiji River, lakes, savannah and riverine forests. The only consistent human inhabitants are the Maasai, who offer guided tours and cultural experiences.

Despite being so remote, Nyerere National Park has a selection of luxurious stays, with options to go fly camping and enjoy all the best luxury touches in a truly splendid setting.
