The enchanting Bazaruto Archipelago is a Mozambican beach escape that promises a tropical ‘blue’ safari. This pristine archipelago features a range of idyllic islands adorned with powdery white-sand beaches, swaying palm trees, and crystal-clear waters that hide an outstanding underwater world.

The Bazaruto Archipelago National Marine Park encompasses five secluded islands and is famed for its biodiversity. Here you will find colourful coral reefs and pristine beaches on which turtles lay their eggs. Bazaruto National Park boasts an incredible variety of marine life including six dolphin species, dugongs, upwards of 2000 fish species, and migratory whales, orca, whale sharks, and manta rays. The Archipelago is also a prime location for big game fishing with the waters bursting with monstrous marlin, sailfish, and kingfish.

Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Bangué, and Santa Carolina Islands, make up this remote and untouched haven. Nestled within tropical gardens along the beachfront sit a selection of extremely exclusive and luxurious lodges which make for the perfect base to explore the islands and enjoy the various activities on offer. From horse riding on the beach, to paddle boarding, fishing, island excursions, castaway picnics, snorkelling and scuba diving – these islands are an excellent place to rejuvenate and recharge.

Guests visiting the Archipelago can look forward to a scenic 5–10-minute helicopter flight across the bay from Vilanculos to access the islands.
